- Delicious pickled or in a salad, but in Kanazawa it is often enjoyed in ankake thick starchy sauce
Overview

This gigantic natural hybrid originated from cucumbers from Kanazawa and Tohoku in the early Showa period and can weigh as much as 1kg. Cultivated in Utsugi district’s sand hills, the skin is peeled and the seeds removed before eating.
